HIGH RISK WARNING: Transactions carried out with margin (leveraged trading) in markets such as Forex involve a high level of risk and may not be suitable for every investor. There is a possibility that you may lose all of your invested capital. Therefore, we recommend that you trade only with an amount you can afford to lose. Furthermore, before deciding to trade, you should understand the risks you may encounter and make decisions taking your limits into account.
Providing leveraged trading services is subject to the permission of the Capital Markets Board. Therefore, before you begin trading, check whether the institution you plan to work with is authorized to provide such services. You can learn which institutions are authorized to provide leveraged trading services from www.spk.gov.tr or www.tspakb.org.
Risk Disclosure Form for Leveraged Trading Transactions
Leveraged trading transactions may result in profit as well as losses. Therefore, before you decide to trade, you should understand and consider the risks you may face.
For this purpose, as stipulated in Article 9 of the Communiqué of the Capital Markets Board titled “Principles Regarding Leveraged Trading Transactions and the Institutions That May Perform These Transactions,” you need to understand the following matters set out in the “Risk Disclosure Form for Leveraged Trading Transactions.”
Warning
Providing leveraged trading services is subject to the permission of the Capital Markets Board. Therefore, before you begin trading, check whether the institution you plan to work with is authorized to provide such services. You can learn which institutions are authorized to provide leveraged trading services from www.spk.gov.tr or www.tspakb.org.
Risk Disclosure
In addition to the matters specified in the “Framework Agreement” to be signed with the authorized institution with which you will open an account, it is very important that you understand the following:
-
All accounts you open with the authorized institution and all transactions carried out through such accounts will be subject to all applicable legislation and similar administrative regulations issued by the Capital Markets Board.
-
Leveraged trading transactions are extremely risky. Due to the leverage effect, trading with a small margin can work in your favor or against you; in this respect, while leverage may provide you with high gains, it may also lead to substantial losses. You may lose all the funds you have deposited with the authorized institution as a result of adverse price movements. Do not rely on promises of high returns.
-
You should take into account that the information and recommendations provided to you by the authorized institution regarding the transactions you will make may be incomplete and subject to verification.
-
It should be noted that technical and fundamental analyses performed by the authorized institution’s personnel regarding leveraged trading transactions may vary from person to person and that the forecasts in these analyses may not materialize.
-
For transactions denominated in foreign currencies, in addition to the risks listed above, there is exchange rate risk; due to exchange rate fluctuations, you may suffer losses when measured in Turkish Lira. States may restrict foreign capital and trading movements, impose additional and/or new taxes, or trading operations may not be executed in a timely manner.
-
Parity prices and “spreads” offered to you in leveraged trading transactions may not reflect the best available prices. It is advisable to also check the prices of other institutions.
-
Before you start trading, you must obtain confirmation from your authorized institution about all commissions and other transaction fees you will be liable for. If the fees are not stated in monetary terms, you should request a clear written explanation containing examples showing how such fees will be charged to you.
-
You should be aware that authorized institutions cannot guarantee that you will not incur losses as a result of leveraged trading operations, that your losses will be kept under control, or that additional margin calls will be made in the event of losses.
-
This risk disclosure form for leveraged trading transactions is intended to inform investors in general about the existing risks and may not cover all risks arising from leveraged trading and its practice. Therefore, before directing your savings to such transactions, you should conduct careful research.
